SWEDISH MASSAGE

Swedish massage is the foundation of Anita’s integrated sessions and the most common contemporary massage modality. It is characterized by long strokes across the body to improve overall health by enhancing the circulation of blood and lymph, muscle tension release, joint flexibility, and mind-body relaxation. A full body massage with clear communication and consideration for client needs or sensitivities.

SHIATSU

A traditionally Japanese massage therapy modality, Shiatsu is based on the Chinese Traditional concept of Chi,Qi, or Ki (气)- energy movement. By focusing specific points in the body along the energy’s meridian lines, similar to acupressure, Shiatsu focuses on the release of energy and blockages.

ACUPRESSURE

Acupressure, from Traditional Chinese Medicine and like acupuncture, targets blockages along the meridians for release using gentle touch instead of needles. This can be a clothes on modality and can offer soothing relaxation for the nervous system as well as inspire deep release and discovery.

REFLEXOLOGY

This modality inspires awareness of the holographic principle through the system of reflexology, working with the correlation between the feet, hands and the body in each session. The feet and hands contain “reflex” points which influence organs, glands, and body “zones”. Massaging these reflex centers encourages new vigor to flow into the corresponding areas of the body, relieving discomfort and supporting the immune system.

HOT STONE MASSAGE

Hot stone massage is a special modality, requiring the heating at a consistent temperature of hot stones that are used to calm and release muscular areas. To retain heat, the stones are often basalt, a type of volcanic rock. Offered seasonally.
